When Augustine Mahlonoko made his debut for Orlando Pirates. As the youngest player ever to represent the club in the Premier Soccer League. At the he was only 16-years-old, when he made his debut against the now defunct Highlights Park. He was seen as the next big star for the club.
What was suppose to be an upward trajectory took a turn for the worst. The player has now revealed what went wrong to his promising career.
When Pirates demoted Mahlonoko from there first team, he yet to make his presence felt. He only made four appearances for the Soweto giants. He admits that fame got to him and he become big headed.

When Pirates saw the was no improvement they moved Mahlonoko to Pele Pele FC, Pirates feeder team in the ABC Motsepe League. A decision Mahlonoko did not take well and felt it was unfair and asked the club to terminate his contract.
At first i felt the decision was unfair, becouse they could have loaned me to another PSL team. I had an offer from Ajax Cape Town, that's when i went to the coaches and to the it was time for to leave. But they refused to give my clearence.
After not getting his clearance Mahlonoko stopped going to training. Pirates final agreed to terminate his contract. A decision he says he regrets becouse he was impatient.
got another chance last season, when he joined Baroka FC. But could not get regular game time. The club has loaned him to Pretoria Callies in the GladAfrica Championship. Where he is hoping to revive his once promising career.
