Orlando Pirates supporters are constantly still trying to figure out what went wrong in the CAF Confederation Cup final against RS Berkane at Uyo, Nigeria. Which has led to different fans blaming certain players for missing crucial chances of punishing their opponents. Even the technical team - Mandla Ncikazi and Fadlu Davids haven't been left off from the criticism too. As the supporters feel that they deserved to see their club lift a trophy this season. There was hopes that they'll win the CAF Confederation Cup, but RS Berkane were victorious on the night.

As they ended Pirates hopes of wining the CAFCC title, as the game ended on one-all draw, which then meant they had to go to the penalties whereby the Soweto giants lost by 5-4 at Godswill Akpabio International Stadium. This touched their former striker Benni McCarthy as he felt that they pulled of a good fight, but it wasn't enough. McCarthy sent some wise words towards the wounded Buccaneers. As he has been there and understood missing out in the CAF trophies. "Unlucky Ma’buccaneer, such is life. You win some, You loose some. You must remain proud of the team for there effort. They will come good no doubt ☠️ Once and Always 🏴‍☠️," said McCarthy on his Twitter account.

Now, apart from Thembinkosi Lorch missing the penalty, but the Pirates attacker Deon Hotto has been scrutinised for not scoring goals during an open play. Within McCarthy's comment another fans felt that Hotto didn't live up to the high expectations. "No luck here coach.... Hotto is the culprit!!!" said the angry Pirates fan @MnfanKaNina on Twitter.

Then the former AmaZulu FC head coach did respond to the fan as he felt that no one should be blamed for the devastating loss against Berkane. Since it's a team sport, which means everyone will take full responsibility of the loss. "I hear you my brother and I feel your pain but this football is a cruel game. I’m sure the players gave it there all, we can’t point fingers. Next season is around the corner and they must make it right ☠️," said McCarthy on Twitter.
