Botswana national football star in health scare

Images have started circulating on various social media platforms showing a Botswana national football star in hospital.

The star has been a revelation for both the national team as well as Police XI. The striker has been identified as Moemedi ‘Jomo’ Moatlhaping and he is currently in hospital.

Investigations have shown that he has not been well but he is on his way to full recovery.

According to Botswana media, his troubles started during a training session last week when he collapsed before the session was over.

He was the admitted at Princess Marina hospital were his condition is said to be stable and he is responding well to treatment.

He watched from his hospital bed when his team came out 1-0 victorious over Jwaneng Galaxy in a league match. He also missed his sides 1-0 loss to Township Rollers on Saturday.

News about his progress was shared by his coach Maitumelo ‘Junior’ Lotlaamoreng who revealed that the top striker was discharged from the hospital on Saturday and is doing very well.

“Jomo was discharged today (Saturday). We spoke to him earlier and is getting better,” Lotlaamoreng said. His absence during his side’s loss to Rollers was clearly visible as the Jungle Kings’ technical team was forced to use wingers upfront.

The coach said he could feel the absence in his team and he is expecting him to recover fully.

Not details were shared about why he collapsed during the training session.
