Ex-Pirates Star The Reason Pirates Lost To Simba SC?

EX -Pirates player to blame for the team's loss against Simba SC?

Simba SC defeated Orlando Pirates 1-0 in the first leg of the CAF Confederations Cup quarterfinals. South Africa's Orlando Pirates competed against Tanzania's greatest football club.

In the first half, the South African football team performed admirably, but the match ended in a goalless tie at the half-time break.

Simba SC won the match 1-0 at the end of the second half thanks to an Orlando Pirates error that resulted in a penalty. For Simba SC to take the lead at the break, ex-Orlando Pirates defender Happy Jele fouled former Pirates star Bernard Morrison in the second half.

It was so ironic that a former Orlando Pirates player was responsible for Simba SC's first-leg win, as his foul resulted to Pirates' defeat. Shomari Kapombe's penalty gave Orlando Pirates a last-gasp chance to advance for the semi-finals after Morrison was fouled in the first leg.

In the second leg, Orlando Pirates will have the benefit of playing at home, and that should help them in their quest for a comeback. Because they are only behind by one goal after two games, Orlando Pirates has a solid chance of winning the series.

Orlando Pirates co-coach Mandla Ncikazi reacted angrily to the treatment the team received following the loss. When the Pirates were to be penalized, Ncikazi argued that the penalty awarded to Simba was not a penalty at all.
