The Chlorkop team are known for splashing the cash to attract top talent, and getting all the players they want without being opposed. But for the first time they faced rejection.
Paval Afranko is a player Sundowns desperately wanted to bring to the Chlorkop, so desperate they launched a R12 million transfer bid which is exactly the player's release clause. This is a shock as they already have enough fire power but the ambitious club want a squad depth that will allow them to compete with the best teams in Africa.
The player is based in the Romanian league where he is viaing for promotion with his club, the player was convinced by the club to stay despite Sundowns turning his neck as he displayed loyalty to his team. The club claimed they held talks with him and asked he help them win the league then he would be allowed to leave in the summer.
The player will stay on and could still possibly join the PSL champions if he doesn't see the need to remain loyal to his club anymore, the player is supposed to be a replacement for Affonso who remains injured.
