Was Hunt Dismissed Early? See As Kaizer Chiefs Boss Furiously Asked

Stuart William Baxter (born 16 August 1953) is a British football manager and player who currently manages South African Premier Soccer League side Kaizer Chiefs.

Born in England of Scottish parentage, and brought up in both countries, Baxter played professionally for a number of clubs in England, Scotland, Australia, Sweden and in the United States. He has previously managed clubs in Sweden, Norway, Portugal, Japan, South Africa, Turkey and India.

Despite the fact that he will be facing his predecessor this afternoon, Stuart Baxter has shared his thoughts on Gavin Hunt being fired by Kaizer Chiefs back in May.

The four-time league winner is now at Chippa United, a team with an even more impatient owner in Siviwe Mpengesi, and he returns to FNB Stadium five months after leaving Amakhosi early in his three-year deal with the club.

Baxter was later selected to take his position at Naturena for a second stint, and he was questioned this week if he had any sympathy for Hunt.

The coaches – Gavin, Stuart Baxter, Ernst Middendorp – and every player – Pitso Mosimane – all understand that they are under constant pressure. The president responded during an online news conference: "We understand, but we have to get on with the work."

That's something we have to make a buddy with. I sympathize with every coach because every coach who is relieved of his or her responsibilities has something valuable to contribute - not every coach is working at Manchester City or in a virtual ideal scenario. Every work has its limits, its unfortunate injuries, its epidemic that forces the fans out of the stadium - every profession has these things. Every job has them. "I strongly believe that any coach may be stripped of his responsibilities without having done anything wrong," I declare.

They are separated by only a point at the bottom of the DStv Premiership standings, which means that if things don't go their way on Saturday night, either Baxter or Hunt will find themselves in even more trouble than they were before the game.
