At times, swallowing ones pride and apologizing saves a lot.
That is exactly what Goodman Mosele did after he snubbed a Bafana Bafana call up and went Away Without Official Leave (AWOL).
World football governing body FIFA has now taken a stance allowing national associations to discipline players who fail to report for national duty.
Mosele has allegedly sent his apology to the South African football association.
He had been part of coach Hugo Broos plans for Bafana Bafana's World Cup qualifiers against Ethiopia.
A source told football publication Phakaathi that a lot of people were disappointed by what Mosele did and it would take a lot to forgive him.
“I know a lot of people are disappointed with what he did, but to be honest, he couldn’t control what happened. He is a young man who is reaching the peak of his career, so, he has to do things according to culture and tradition. I don’t want to talk a lot, you know these things. But, he has apologised, I hope he will be forgiven," said a source.
