Sundowns star joins Messi and Pogba

Creator of the News Hub welcomes new Sundowns teammate to Messi and Pogba ranks.

As Lionel Messi, Neymar Junior, Cristiano Ronaldo, and other soccer superstars throughout the world have demonstrated, it is the desire of every soccer player to one day be recognized by the world of soccer for his talent.

Similarly, in South Africa, players that play for Kaizer Chiefs Football Club, Orlando Pirates Football Club, and Mamelodi Sundowns Football Club are looked at more favorably than other players in the league since they are expected to perform better than those from other teams.

Denis Onyango, the captain and number one goalkeeper for Sundowns, is regarded as one of the top goalkeepers in South Africa and Africa for his work with the Chloorkop-based team.

Thirty-six-years-old Onyango joined the Brazilians from the now-defunct Mpumalanga Black Aces Football Club in 2011 and initially failed to break into the starting eleven as Kennedy Mweene was favored as the club's number one until 2013.

For the ex-Ugandan male senior national team player now in his 11th year at the club, the highlight of his career has been winning nine trophies, including five league crowns and the 2016 CAF Champions League crown.

As a new Pepsi ambassador in Uganda, the Sundowns goalkeeper joins Argentina's Lionel Messi and France's Paul Pogba, both of the Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United football clubs.

Consistency and hard effort will always pay off if you have the patience to wait for it.

Onyango is a role model for young athletes who want success more than focusing on their careers, since Onyango focused on his career and now success is following him.
