Marcelo Vieira Junior, a Brazilian international and world-class defender, played his last league game for newly crowned Spanish La Liga Santander Champions Real Madrid against Real Betis yesterday at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.
The famous 34-year-last old's game for Los Blancos was the end of an era. He had a long and successful career and won the most trophies of any player in the club's history.
He came on as a substitute for Ferland Mendy in the second half of yesterday's game. He was supposed to be playing his last game before the UEFA Champions League final against Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool team at the Stade de France in Paris.
Marcelo joined the team when he was still a teenager, but he will leave Los Blancos as a more experienced player because he is likely to play somewhere else next season.
Yesterday, the famous football player said goodbye in a strange and emotional way. Everyone wishes him the best of luck in the next part of his professional football career.
