It is possible that Kaizer Chiefs will sign more players before the transfer window closes, which is set to close next week Tuesday, Kaizer Motaung Junior has confirmed.

A month after assuming his new role as sporting director of Amakhosi, Motaung was flooded with questions and opinions from fans on social media about team matters, including new players that could join the club.

Sowetan this week quoted him as saying thatAmkhosi had tried their level best to organ a competitive club after transfer window ban that ended few months ago, even if he does not engage directly with fans.

If necessary, you can add more players if necessary," Motaung said. "The key is getting the most out of the stars you already have." A new player arriving before the window closes is possible if necessary. It's true that the players who are already here are working hard and fighting for positions. A chance for everyone is essential."

When Kaizer Chiefs walked away with a victory against Baroka Football Club, Stuart Baxter's charges showed great promise, with outstanding signing Keagan Dolly named man of the match for a brilliant first-half performance. Yet after Baroka's late comeback, Chiefs fans will wonder if their team has the chance to challenge for the Dstv Premiership.

If the Kaizer Chiefs want to sign more players, they have to act fast as the window closes on Tuesday night.

He said the sqaud is not afraid to talk to him, despite his new position at the club, because of his open-door policy as an ex-footballer who retired in 2014.

As a former player, I can relate to what they're going through. Since players are the ones who go out to perform on the field, we should be a player-focused industry." The chairman taught me this.

"His open-door policy has always made him approachable and humble. Having people like assistant coach Zwane, a former player, who can help instill the Kaizer Chiefs culture into the current group of players, is also a huge help. Then we'll be on the right track."
