PSL is thought to be one of the best leagues in the world or should l say the top league in African continent also. One thing that is strange is that the leaders of the league seem to be clueless on how they are going to integrate with the plan of allowing fans back to stadiums while avoiding Covid 19 remains the main objective.
What is the purpose of football or any sport without fans really?. Can you say you are playing football for fans?. There are lots of questions that arises on this matter. Who stands to benefit the most of fans are not allowed on stadiums.
The EFF leader Julius Malema was the first person to take a stand, it really helps to have a young leader who really understand the needs of young people and the country at large. We are not politically bias no , those were the views that people had to raise on social media platforms. We love all political parties that are there in South Africa and this is an issue that all political parties must engage in. There are people who rely on stadiums to make ends meet.
Daniel Kerr had to voice his displeasure as well about the return of fans on stadiums this is what he had to say when he was asked about this whole issue.
"At the end of the day the PSL and DSTV have provided service for fans to watch but at the end of the day, as a coach you guys would agree, football is not football without fans," Kerr told the media in Durban.
"We can see in Europe and African Cup of Nations, there's fans there, yes we gotta listen to the guidelines and listen to the President but I think we've passed the worst stages and it's time fans come back to the stadium.
Players are the most affected people by this they have to create their own atmosphere sometimes. This is something that needs to be taken care of going forward.
"Because players they miss it, they miss their motivaters, they are the one that playing and without that support. It's very difficult to play and hence they don't perform well and I hope Minister of Sport and Government sees that, can see what other countries are doing."
