It still remains hard to believe that former Mamelodi Sundowns and one of the highly paid player Lerato Shabangu become flat and dead broke. At one point, his videos and pictures were trending on social media platforms; it was really sad to see him out and down like that.
In 2017 Chabangu confessed that he had fallen from grace. "I blew all my money on useless things because I was always guaranteed a salary the following month," Chabangu told Sowetan.
The former Moroka Swallows player has now turned a new leaf; and has secured himself a new job. Gomora United owner Joe Seanego has appointed Lerato Chabangu as his Technical Advisor.
The ABC Motsepe League club is looking at benefiting from Chabangu's expertise, skills and experience.
"I want to include Lerato in the technical staff, I want him to be a technical advisor. I liked his qualities, his qualities are going to help. He is going to add contribution. We should groom these boys early so that at the end of the day they know this is their team.
He is retiring. Ian Palmer is our coach. We will organise for him an official retirement at the end of the season." says Joe Seanego

02-05 08:00:25I'm happy for him, he knows both sides of the coin, good life and bad life. so he will be guiding the young stars from a very honest and practical perspective. My appeal to him is that he should at least mend his own ways for him to be genuine to others. All the best.
