Kaizer Chiefs striker Lazarous Kambole has been one of the underperforming players at the club who are were rumoured to be close to the exit or close to being loaned out but it seems the Zambian has got a lifeline.
Kambole joined Amakhosi with a lot of fanfare in June 2019 after he signed from Zesco United on a three-year deal with the hope of reviving a Chiefs side that had finished in ninth place that previous season.
The Zambian had a big reputation with his exploits for Zesco in the CAF Champions League making him one of the most sought after players at the time.
However, since joining the Glamour Boys he is yet to get to his best and in his first season many fans had patience with him since he had just moved to a different country and a different league.
But with the second season now approaching its end, Kambole is still yet to get firing as he has not scored a goal so far in the current campaign.
Along with the likes of Siphelele Ntshangase, Siphosakhe Ntiya-Ntiya, Yagan Sasman and Willard Katsande, Kambole has been constantly linked with an exit at the club at the end of the season.
In recent months it was believed that the Zambian could be sent out on loan but the other striker that got a loan deal was Keletso Sifama, who joined Maritzburg United from Amakhosi on deadline day.
"Striker Keletso Sifama has moved to Maritzburg United on loan until the end of the 2020/21 season. We wish the youngster all of the best during his spell at United,” Chiefs announced on their official Twitter account.
Sifama is one of the few players that have not had a chance under coach Gavin Hunt and will reunite with his former coach Ernst Middendorp who gave him his debut as a 16-year old while at Amakhosi.
So after the transfer window shut on Monday, Kambole can focus on the second round of the season to revive his floundering career at Amakhosi.
Do you think Kambole has done enough to go for another season at Chiefs?
