Sundowns Fans Give Chiefs Fans A Bittersweet Send-Off After They Decided To Leave The Stadium Early

Gauteng rivals Chiefs and Sundowns were supposed to play a close game, but Sundowns won 4–0 with two goals from their star striker Peter Shalulile.

The game got off to a bad start for Chiefs when their central defender, Siyabonga Ngezana, made two mistakes in the first 20 minutes. This gave Sundowns a healthy 2-0 lead, which they added to in the second half.

Even though Chiefs had two great chances to get back into the game—Reeve Frosler shot wide when he was one-on-one with the goalkeeper, and Khama Billiat missed a penalty after Tebogo Mokoena tripped Kgaogelo Sekgota in the box—Sundowns continued to control the game, scoring two more goals through Shalulile and Abubeker Nasir, who had just joined the team.

Most Chiefs fans who had hoped to see their team at least stay in the game until the end left the Loftus Versfeld Stadium because they could not keep sitting there and watching their team lose in every way.

With ten minutes plus extra minutes left, Chiefs fans were seen leaving the Stadium because they couldn't keep watching their team struggle.

Sundowns fans decided to give Chiefs fans a sad goodbye because that's what Chiefs fans used to do to other teams in the past.

I can only imagine how the Chiefs fans felt when the Brazilians gave them a bittersweet send-off. At the time, they were hurting and couldn't believe what they had just seen.

Sundowns fans were a little insensitive, but that's what rivals do when their enemy is down: they kick them and don't let them get back up.
