UEFA Champions League

Boost as Chelsea Reportedly Holds Informal Talks with France Defender Over a Move

After practically winning the UEFA Champions League cup last season, Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel is apparently eager to win another title, preferably the English Premier League.

It should be noted that the Blues are currently in first place in the EPL standings, and Tuchel appears to be determined to bolster his defensive unit so early in the season.

Meanwhile, the January transfer market is approaching, and clubs will be engaged in bidding wars, with Chelsea pursuing some of their top targets. Chelsea are apparently willing to offer £60 million for Real Madrid defender Ferland Mendy next summer, according to a reliable source in Italy.

Mendy, 26, joined Real Madrid from Lyon in 2019 and has quickly established himself as a key player for the club, scoring numerous goals and assisting on others.

Given the uncertainty surrounding Marcos Alonso and Emerson Palmieri's contracts at Stamford Bridge, Mendy might be an ideal target for the Blues.

Furthermore, the Blues will be without Belgium attacker Romelu Lukaku as well as Tomorrow Werner in the upcoming match.
