Manchester United have apparently signed an arrangement with Ralf Rangnick to serve as temporary manager at Old Trafford for six months and then as a consultant for another two years. Rangnick will be unable to play against Chelsea in the Premier League owing to work visa issues, but may be available against Arsenal next week at Old Trafford. Man United players have returned to training at Carrington after Tuesday's 2-0 victory against Villareal in the UEFA Champions League. Ronaldo, Rashford, Mata, Fernandes, Baily, Matic, and Amad Diallo all attended today's training session and looked sharp and eager to overcome Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea were dealt a major injury blow in their 4-0 win against Juventus in Thomas Tuchel's 50th game in command, when Ngolo Kante and Ben Chillwell sustained injuries. Tuchel said that Ben Chillwell was in severe agony on Wednesday and was declared out for the remainder of the year owing to an ACL injury, while Ngolo Kante is undertaking a comprehensive recovery and rehabilitation procedure. Matteo Kovacic, Kai Havertz, and Romelu Lukaku are all uncertain to start against Manchester United, although Lukaku might come off the bench after his return to first team training.
