Watch: See how hard Chiefs' new conditioning coach trains

Towards the end of the 2021/2022 season, it was clear that Kaizer Chiefs Football Club were going to have the changes that their fans have been calling for since 2018, as the club's Sporting Director, Kaizer Motaung Jnr hinted on more than one occasion that the club will make the necessary changes to bring back the glory days.

The club wasted no time after the end of season 2021/2022 as they decided to appoint their former player and reserve team head coach, Arthur Zwane as the club's head coach for the next three seasons, and will be assisted by former now-defunct Bidvest Wits Football Club player and assistant coach, Dillion Sheppard who also signed a three-year contract.

The duo alongside Motaung Jnr wasted no time in getting their hands dirty, as they decided to show 12 players and their goalkeeper coach, Lee Baxter the exit door while also bringing in seven new players and promoting Mduduzi Shabalala from their reserve team.

The club continued to add new personnel, as last week they announced that Muse Maluleke has joined the Chiefs' Technical team as a senior Sports Scientist and Strength and Conditioning Coach for the senior team.

He joined Amakhosi from the second division side, University of Pretoria Football Club, and he comes with a wealth of experience having worked with the South African National teams at the U17 and U20 levels.

Yesterday he had a gym session alongside two unknown gentlemen, and during the session, he was spotted lifting weights that are well over 80 kilograms with ease showing how fit and strong he is.

I think his knowledge of fitness will help Chiefs players to avoid muscle injuries which have been the club's biggest problem over the years, and will also see the players performing at their highest level of fitness.

Players that have struggled to get and remain fit, I think will no longer have the same problems under Maluleke.
