UEFA Champions League

PREVIEW : UEFA Champions League matchday 3

Tuesday night will mark the 2021 / 2022 UEFA Champions League matchday three. With the groups starting to take shape, teams will be eager to put in performances that will save them from being knocked out.

SuperSport has reported that the all the games of the Champions League round will be broadcast live in South Africa.

ISTANBUL : The first encounter takes place in Istanbul, with Besiktas playing host to Sporting Lisbon.

Both sides are currently winless and without points in Group C.

A loser at the Vodafone Park tonight will likely kiss the Champions League goodbye.

BRUGGE : In Group A, unbeaten thus far, Club Brugge welcome English Champions, Manchester City to the Jan Breydel Stadion.

The Belgian side will not be intimidated as they will be facing City, after they held a star - studded Paris Saint-Germain in the opening game of the group.

AMSTERDAM : Two sides who are favorite to advance from the group, Ajax Amsterdam and Borussia Dortmund sit comfortably in position 1 and 2 respectively.

One gets the sense that a winner at the Amsterdam Arena / Johan Cruyff Arena tonight will have the edge in winning the Group.

MADRID : La Liga Champions welcome English giants Liverpool to the Wanda Metropolitano tonight.

Coming off a morale boosting 2 - 1 victory over AC Milan, Madrid will no doubt fancy their chances against a free scoring Liverpool, boosting the attacking prowess of Mohammed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane.

According to SuperSport, Liverpool are considered the favorites in this clash.

The club from Merseyside currently anchor the standings with six points, following back to back victories, a 3 - 2 victory against AC Milan at Anfield and a sizzling and impressive 5 - 1 trouncing of FC Porto, in Portugal.

According to Sky Sports, Liverpool scored three goals or more in their last seven Premier League games, something for Porto to worry about.
