Benni McCarthy gives his verdict on AmaZulu squad

Having finished as commendable runners-up last season (behind Mamelodi Sundowns), McCarthy has looked into improve his squad of players with the acquisition of a number of key things.

Joining the Usuthu for the 2021/22 season are seven new players with more possible before the transfer window closes on 31 August.

They are: Keagan buchanan, Mxolisi Kunene, Matarr Ceesay, Tercious Malepe, Tshepang Moremi< Philane Zulu and Lindani Shange.

Meanwhile, Sbu Magaqa returns from a loan spell with Royal AM.

Players departing the KwaZulu-Natal side include Siyabonga Mbatha Sphelele Magubane, Telent Chawapihwa, Sphiwe Tshabalala and Samuel Darpoh.

The players were unveiled alongside the club's new kit- and a few new sponsors-last week with Benni McCarthy expressing his delight at the direction of the club.

He told the club's website: " I am happy with the guys, majority of them are players we wanted to recruited. We had to select smart. I am happy with the guys that we got."

"They seem like we have brought brand new players into the team with their quality. Unfortunately, (Sibusiso) Magaqa got injured in a pre-season friendly match. Both are a breath of fresh air. So, our team is looking good," Benni McCarthy added.
