After battling for consistent game time this season, the Malawian International has been linked with a move away from Pirates.
After making headlines last year for all the wrong reasons, the athlete has fallen out of favor with the Buccaneers.
Despite a strong showing at the Africa Cup of Nations earlier this year, the player was unable to secure a spot at Pirates.
According to sources, Pirates and Usuthu have already negotiated all of the details of the player's transfer to Amazulu, and the player will be traded from Usuthu next season.
The two parties are anticipated to make a major announcement soon.
"Yes, I can confirm that Gabadinho Mhango is heading to AmaZulu," said a person close to the negotiations.
After offering Chippa United star Eva Nga a two-year contract, Pirates are already seeking for a replacement.
Amazulu is also close to signing Ishmael Wadi from JDR Stars of the GladAfrica Championship.
