A New Challenge Awaits Chiefs Striker Abroad?

Kaizer Chiefs have a lot of excellent young players in their first team and reserves, but not everyone gets an equal chance in the game because only a handful make it big enough to attract interest from other clubs.

Mduduzi Shabalala, a young Kaizer Chiefs player who competes in the DStv Diski Challenge, was given the opportunity to travel to Europe for trials in Belgium. He flew out on Monday and is expected to arrive in Belgium on Tuesday.

Mduduzi Shabalala will spend two weeks in Belgium with KVC Westerlo of the Belgian Pro League. The club was in the B Division this season before winning promotion to the Belgian Pro League, putting them in the top flight.

The youthful striker, who has impressed for Kaizer Chiefs this season with some key goals, will have two weeks to impress Westerlo on a trial basis before returning to South Africa for a few days.

He will be dubbed the Cosafa Cup player of the tournament while he is in South Africa for a few days before returning to Spain, where he will most likely join FC Barcelona.

Bontle Molefe, a goalie with Kaizer Chiefs, is scheduled to follow Shabalala to Belgium at a later date, where he will spend a month with Royal Antwerp of the Belgian Pro League.
