Bernard Parker has been given a new role by Kaizer Chiefs

Bernard Parker has been affirmed as the Kaizer Chiefs vice captain to Itumeleng Khune by lead trainer Stuart Baxter after he expected the influential position in their 2021/22 DStv Premiership opener. 

Parker wore the armband for Chiefs in their 0-0 draw with TS Galaxy at Mbombela Stadium with Itumeleng Khune missing in the group conflict. 

Talking after the game the Amakhosi manager affirmed the veteran, who's in his 10th season at the club will be endowed with the job of commander at whatever point the accomplished goalkeeper isn't on the pitch. 

"We think right now with Bernard being the senior player, he's the most reasonable for that," Baxter confirmed to KickOff.com.

Parker joined the Soweto monsters from Eredivisie side FC Twente in 2011 and has won two class titles, the MTN8 and the Nedbank Cup while storing up 339 appearances for the club.
