Cape Town City Boss Comitis comments on the links transfer of Thabo Nodada to Sundowns

Nodada: Cape Town City manager Comitis comments on the rumoured transfer of the midfielder to Mamelodi Sundowns.

The former Ajax Cape Town chairman revealed to GOAL exclusively that the vice-captain of the team is still in their plans.

John Comitis, the chairman of Cape Town City, has responded to rumours that the club is in contact with Mamelodi Sundowns over Thabo Nodada's services.

The talented 27-year-old is considered one of the top central midfielders in the Premier Soccer League, and Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates have both reportedly expressed interest in signing him.

Masandawana reportedly began talks with the Citizens on Monday, according to reports, as the Tshwane giants want to bolster their midfield ahead of the 2022–23 season.

Without actually excluding the prospect of selling the former Mpumalanga Black Aces star, Comitis noted that the defending PSL winners have yet to get in touch with him.

Comitis told GOAL, "Honestly, I haven't heard a word from Sundowns [about Nodada]."

"I have, however, read two or three pieces in the media today, but Sundowns has not responded to any of them. My current location is in Europe." Due to the fact that I have not heard from Sundowns, I must declare that nothing is occuring right now.

Due to the excellent working relationship between Sundowns and City, Bradley Ralani, Lyle Lakay, and Kermit Erasmus have just joined Masandawana from the Citizens.

Thabo is a crucial component of our plans. We'll have to wait and see," said the seasoned football official.

Nodada's current City contract runs through June 2024, and the Mother City team will make its Caf Champions League debut in the following campaign.
