Koeman on Fati return: "I saw the news press saying Ansu Fati would be available for the Sevilla game but no, I can confirm he won't play. He is doing well, but we don't want to rush his recovery nor take any risks."
Barcelona is not looking for the next Messi, they want someone who can step up & win trophies for the club. Barcelona did not go looking for the next Ronaldinho when he left the club for Milan. Whatever the case Messi is long gone, he is a club legend but we can't dwell on the past. This is Ansu Fati's time to prove his worth just like how Messi did when Ronaldinho left.
For all those who are saying Barcelona should've retired the No.10 jersey, there have been too many great players who have played for Barcelona, if we they start retiring every Number then what will the players use? Also No. 10 is iconic, there should always be someone who wears the No.10 in the team. The number 10 is too iconic to be retired because not only Messi but many great players before him wore it, and they want to continue the legacy.
The reason Barcelona cannot retire the number 10 jersey is because the La Liga does not allow them to retire the numbers 1-24.
