Giving back to the community| Rulani Mokwena spotted attending Kasi tournament

Rulani Mokwena is a 34-year-old Mamelodi Sundowns Football Club co-head coach, where he shares the duties with Manqoba Mgqithi. The two took over from former Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane in October 2020, after he left and went to join Egyptian giants Al Ahly Sporting Club.

The son and nephew of Orlando Pirates Football Club stars Julias and Jomo Sono come from a footballing family, and like his elders before him, he took the same route as them but in a different way.

He made his way through the junior ranks of Silver Stars before becoming the assistant coach of Sundowns and Pirates before he went on to become their interim coach for five months. He was loaned to Chippa United by Pirates before making his return to Sundowns in 2020.

His love for the game has seen him regularly visiting the local tournaments, to try and give back to the community that gave him his break in the sport.

The master tactician was spotted yesterday in an unnamed location.
