As bafana star along with Yasser Ibrahim, Luís Miquissone, Ahmed Nabil and Ahmed Abdelkader had all recently tested positive for the Corona virus, there are now good news for the Al Ahly camp regarding their recovery.
The club doctor revealed that the players had been instructed to self-isolate prior to an EPL Cup game for Al Ahly. With latest follow ups, there appears to be a big boost for the club as Percy Tau has now made his return back to the training ground and could possibly feature in the red devil's next League Cup game against Al Mokawloon on Friday.
The club revealed on their statement that Percy Tau has fully returned to first team training after he tested negative following his isolation and treatment of the virus.
By the end of last year, the former Mamelodi Sundowns foward played an instrumental role for Al Ahly as the Egyptian giants edged past Raja Casablanca by 6-5 on penalty shootouts in the 2021 edition of the CAF Super Cup in Qatar.
Percy Tau expressed his joy upon his return to the pitch and is willing to work hard to regain full match fitness. The man from Witbank saw a change of fortune in his career as Pitso Mosimane rescued him from his struggles in the English Premier League.
Pitso Mosimane had initially sold Percy Tau to Brighton & Hove Albion back on the days when he was a Mamelodi Sundowns coach. Upon arriving abroad, Percy Tau was subject to constant loan spells in Belgium as he struggled to get a work permit in England.
When he returned to his parent club from his loan spells, Percy Tau was unable to break into the Graham Potter's squad. Pitso Mosimane decided to reunite with his most beloved player as he then again bought the striker from Brighton but this time as an Al Ahly coach.
Following his recovery from the Covid-19, Percy Tau will be eager to impress Pitso Mosimane and possibly regain his place in the Al Ahly squad.
