Over the last decade, Kaizer Chiefs has produced a plethora of talented and experienced players, but not everyone chooses to stay with the Soweto giants or is given the opportunity to continue with the club for longer as they fall out of favor with the great Amakhosi.
When former Kaizer Chiefs striker/attacking midfielder Sakhile Hlongwa departed the club, he dropped out of the PSL top level and sought a new home in the GladAfrica Championship's second tier. He presently plays for Richards Bay FC in the National First Division, but he could return to the Premier League shortly.
Sakhile Hlongwa scored in Richards Bay FC's last encounter in the GladAfrica Championship, a 1-1 tie against Jomo Cosmos that added a point to their impressive GladAfrica Championship tally. Richards Bay FC is currently in first place, giving them an advantage in the race for promotion to the South African top flight.
