Sad|| Former Kaizer Chiefs Player Lucky Maselesele Passed Away - RIP

The world of football will never forget you when you were a very talented and much loved footballer who got the crowds up and cheering your name during derby's. Kaizer Chiefs is evidently the most supported club in South Africa with the largest fanbase of any local club in the Premier Soccer League (PSL). Only the best players gets to play for Kaizer Chiefs and sometimes other clubs sign Kaizer Chiefs forgotten players to strengthen their squads knowing they'll sign skilled and experienced players who knows how to win trophies.

Kaizer Chiefs trophy cabinet is full of silverware and many players had the privileges to be part of Kaizer Chiefs winning squads winning trophies from league's and tournaments. One player who was part of Kaizer Chiefs adventures winning trophies in South Africa, Lucky Maselesele passed away, and it is with great sadness to announce about his passing. Lucky Maselesele's journey with Kaizer Chiefs started in 1998 after he was promoted from the club's development side as he has proven himself worthy for a first team spot.

For those who is old enough to recall watching Lucky play for Chiefs would know that he was a fan favourite star player with a fast pace and great dribbling skills. The midfielder developed an eye for goal as he had a powerful strike in him. He competed for his position at Kaizer Chiefs against Jabu Pule among others. Lucky Maselesele passed away at the young age of 41, and the cause of death has not been make public at this time.

Lucky Maselesele had a football career beyond just Kaizer Chiefs as he played for other clubs such as Manning Rangers, Thanda Royal Zulu and Black Leopards. The superbly talented player was known to South Africans as Romza and he built his entire career on that name. The player's career was not all loom and gloom as he had his downfalls like testing positive for cocaine in 2008. He left the country in 2011 to play in Namibia for Civics FC.

On his return from Namibia he played brief spells for Maritzburg United and FC AK before he retired in 2011. Lucky Maselesele was an honourable football great and he will be missed by many. Lucy's death was brought to light by former teammate and close friend Isaac Mabotsa who was heartbroken when he shared the sad news. Rest in peace Lucky Maselesele, South Africa will remember you for who you were and what good you did. Kaizer Chiefs and supporters will never forget you, go well.

Condolences to Lucky Maselesele's family and close friends, may you be strong through the process of mourn and funeral arrangements. Fairwell Lucky your legacy will live on.
