Having started the season well with an MTN 8 win over Orlando Pirates, the club announced that they had given their headcoach Brendon Truter a special leave, something which is rare to see in the world of football.
Now that the situation at the Dube Birds does not seem to be getting any better even though Simo Dladla has been handed the reigns on a temporary basis in the absence of the head coach.
However, even if that is how it may look on the outside, the Soweto Club's CEO Sipho Xulu has come out to say that the club do not regret their decision to place their coach on Leave, adding Truter is still their head coach even though it seems as if he is losing his job.
"There are no regrets in our decision. We as management always take decisions that are in the best interests of the club. The defeat is not even linked with the fact that we placed our coach on Leave, so we won't start doubting the decision to put Trueter on leave. He is still our head coach and Simo Dladla is our assistant coach holding the fort for the moment, " explained the CEO.
The Dube Birds are currently in 12th place in the league and their next opponent is one who may add to their problems this coming weekend, with a trip to dangerous Mamelodi Sundowns their next match of the 2021/22 season.
Perhaps the club are in sympathy with Truter for his slow start to the season, considering that they sold his key players from last season, such as defender Njabulo Ncobo and Kgaogelo Sekgota.
