Bucs-Downs most valuable combined XI

Mamelodi Sundowns, the reigning DStv Premiership winners, will be tested this weekend when they travel to Soweto to face title rivals Orlando Pirates.

Individually, the two teams have the most valuable squads in the league, and when their respective stars' market values, as published by Transfermarkt, are combined to make a combined XI, they constitute an even more fearsome side.

Behind a back-four that is evenly split between the two clubs, the Buccaneers' R14.4 million-rated goalkeeper Richard Ofori starts ahead of Masandawana's Denis Onyango.

Thapelo Morena of Sundowns starts on the right flank alongside colleague Mosa Lebusa, while Innocent Maela of Pirates starts on the left flank alongside former Bafana Bafana captain Thulani Hlatshwayo.

Andile Jali joins Fortune Makaringe, who has a deeper role than usual for this selection, on the left wing, while Themba Zwane and Vincent Pule bring star power on the right flank, respectively.

Deon Hotto also plays an unfamiliar attacking midfield role behind the PSL's most valued player, Peter Shalulile, whose value has risen to R27 million according to the current estimations.
