Orlando Pirates managed to gain momentum ahead of their CAF confederations cup encounter against Jwaneng Galaxy when they beat Cape town City 2-0 at home.
Pirates are playing against Jwaneng Galaxy, a team that gave Sundowns a tough time but they eventually lost, Pirates will also be looking to win both legs against them and go on and win the competition.
"Winning the Confederations Cup would put our stamp on African football, we are Orlando Pirates and we know what we have to do."
The last time Pirates won an African trophy was about 26 or 27 years ago and that's way too long for a big club like Pirates to experience a trophy drought.
Orlando Pirates faced Al Ahly SC in the final in 2013 and unfortunately lost, they also played in the Confederations Cup final and again lost.
Orlando Pirates are confident that this is the year having broken their trophy drought. They have already won the MTN 8 this season and chasing the league as well, through to the last 16 of the Nedbank cup and we can't rule out a treble for them.
