It has been reported that another DStv Premiership club has appointed their new head coach to finish the remainder of 2021/22. This follows after the Soweto giants had trouble with getting the required results in the league. Hence, the management had to call an urgent meeting with their technical team to discuss the club’s poor results. Also, the fans were not pleased with the coach and his assistants as they felt that they were not taking the club anywhere.
When Swallows FC lost 3-1 to Kaizer Chiefs, that was the last game for Brandon Truter as he was sacked alongside his technical team. This was a shocker since only Truter was expected to exit, however, it seems like the Dube Birds wanted to go through a rebuilding phase. As they’ve now confirmed the appointment of Dylan Kerr as he will officially take over Swallows as of Wednesday as their mentor for the remainder of the season. Amaswaiswai wants to move away from the relegation zone, as they’re last on the league standings. The club chairman David Mogashoa posted the pictures of Kerr being handed Swallows jersey as a sign of their new appointment on the struggling side. “Welcome to the nest coach Dylan Kerr, let’s fly against,” wrote Swallows official Panyaza Lesufi on his Twitter account as he welcomed the Baroka FC tactician.
Kerr was part of Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila FC last season as he helped them win the Nedbank Cup, which was their first-ever trophy in the Premier Soccer League. Looking at the Englishman’s record in the PSL, it is visible that he has an incredible record of saving clubs from being relegated. The current situation at Swallows favours Kerr, as he loves a challenge and the Soweto giants have only managed to win a single game in the last 12 games.
