Watch: Teary-eyed Gavin Hunt addresses the media after 4-0 loss

One man who can do with the break is Gavin Hunt, the head coach at Kaizer Chiefs. Hunt joined Amakhosi at the start of the season, following the sale of his former club, Bidvest Wits FC, and things have gone more than south for him.

The Chiefs ship is definitely sailing very rough waters and Hunt, as the captain gets to bear it all.

The seasoned coach, after his side was thumped 4-0 by Moroccan side, Wydad Casablanca yesterday in Burkina Faso, cut a lonely figure while waiting to give his post-match remarks. While the tech guys were still preparing mics, Hunt sat there, teary-eyed while his fingers beat on the table for creating a sombre rhythm.

The month of February was surely a tough one for Amakhosi as their failed to register a win in all their games, both on domestic league and all other competitions. Amakhosi last won a match back in January 19, when they beat Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila on their league encounter.

Mind games from the Moroccan may have contributed to Chiefs’ walloping as the match was supposed to be played back in February 13 but had to be postponed after Chiefs were denied visas. The new coronavirus variant and soaring positive cases were used as an excuse by the Morocco government to refuse the South African team entry to their country.

Things are surely bad for Chiefs and it will take one huge miracle for a change to come about, in the meantime, the nation awaits to see how the trouble Hunt nagivates this one.
