It hasn't been a good run of fixtures for the gunners as they suffered yet another defeat while coming from a defeat against Wolverhampton Wanderers. This makes it back to back losses for Arteta's team and this is something that has to be rectified as soon as possible.
Target man ollie Watkins scored as early as 2 minutes on the clock from kick off and Aston villa held on to claim all 3 points with a 1-0 win and a much deserved clean sheet for former Arsenal goalkeeper Martinez. Emiliano Martinez has played against Arsenal twice this season and winning on both occasions and also keeping 2 clean sheets against his former employers.
Gabon striker Aubameyang started the game from the bench but was introduced later on in the game replacing Lacazett. Aubameyang was also unable to rescue the gunners as they go 3 games without a single victory.
Aston Villa now sit 2 positions above Arsenal in the Premier league table.
