Kaizer Chiefs returned to action for their second game of the season against Maritzburg United on Tuesday. The club has a good record when playing on Women's Day as they have never lost since the holiday was implemented. This game was always going to he hard coming from the loss against Royal AM over the weekend. It was supposed to set the tone for Arthur Zwane and his troops ahead of the game against Mamelodi Sundowns.
This star is a product of the Kaizer Chiefs development structures. He has been dubbed as the next big thing after impressing in the Multichoice Diski Challenge. He returned from a series of trials I'm Europe where he spent some time in Spain and Belgium. He spend a couple of days witi teams like FC Barcelona, Sevilla and many more.
Mduduzi Shabalala set the fans into a frenzy after scoring his first goal for Amakhosi on Tuesday evening. The youngster was introduced as a sub on the 84th minute. He was in the right place at the right time as he converted after a good passage of play between Sekgota and Billiat. Arthur Zwane shared that he had a conversation with the youngster ahead of the game.
“I told him today, ‘no matter whether we’re under pressure or we’re leading, I’m going to give you the opportunity and I want to see you going out there, showing your talent and express yourself’.
Arthur Zwane shared that he told Mduduzi Shabalala ahead of time that he would play against Maritzburg United. He went on to share that he advised the star to go out on the field and express himself. It is clear that he didn't expect that he would score, however he will definitely take it. This is one of the perks that comes with believing in young talent and giving them an opportunity.
