ARTICLE SOURCE: MY OPINION
Despite the massive amount of money spent on great players, Manchester United appears to be having a bad season, with dismal results.
Last week, the club was humiliated by Young Boys of Switzerland, a minor squad that should never have had a chance to draw with the Red Devils. Not only that, but United was fortunate not to draw against Wolves in the Premier League.
Instead of things going better, the Manchester team lost to West Ham United in the Carabao Cup matches that were just played. The club's manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, has been linked with resigning following a string of poor results.
Although it does not appear that the Norwegian will go soon, given the club recently extended his contract, there are compelling reasons why Cristiano Ronaldo should succeed him at the club if he is fired.
1. He has worked with great coaches
To begin, we should point out that Ronaldo, like Solskjaer, has a wealth of experience. Apart from playing under Ferguson, the Portuguese star has worked with some of the best managers in the world, and because of his status, he must have learned two or three things from those coaches that he can pass on to a team that hires him.
2. He knows much about the philosophy of Manchester United
As a goal and assist specialist, Ronaldo also knows a lot about attacking football. He has previously played for the club and is well-versed in its style of play. Ronaldo will use his attacking knowledge to rebuild the Red Devils' attacking line, as they say, experience is the best teacher.
3. He will command respect because of his achievements
For the past four years, the Portuguese star has been voted the greatest player in the league, and his colleagues have shown a yearning to play with him. It won't be difficult for them to embrace him as their coach and believe in his ways. Who wouldn't want to hear Cristiano Ronaldo speak? He's a fantastic player who has seen and experienced a lot.
Because Ronaldo is a skill innovator and a modern player who has participated in the modern game, he will have no trouble devising modern tactics that will benefit the squad. If the club decides to fire Solskjaer, he should be the next coach.
