Football has transformed over the years and there has been a lot of equality that has been pushed in the space. We've seen women come through and hold different roles in the space from owning teams to being team doctors. These are positions which were predominantly held by men in this space which is why it is always amazing to see progress.
This team for one of the clubs in the PSL has caught the eyes with many showering her with praise. We've also seen a female referee in the league with Akhona Makalima and this is certainly a step in the revolutionary process. Shawn Mkhize has also brought about a strong personality to the top flight and this is fitting of her brand what she stands for.
Dr Singe Chonco is the team doctor for Royal AM and she has been doing an amazing job. The new kids on the block have went on to shock the entire country enjoying a good run of results. She is an important part of the team and the unsung hero as the person who has to ensure that all players and fit and ready to play.
Royal AM have won 4 of their last games heading into the international break. This performance has forced the rest of the teams to sit up and take notice. They are ticking all the right boxes at the moment and the credit should be given to everyone involved all the way to the back room staff like Dr Chonco.
The PSL has done a lot in terms of allowing women into the person, however more can still be done. There has been calls for more clubs to establish women's team in order to increase the competitiveness as Mamelodi Sundowns has been dominating. Dr Singe is young and a professional which merits the praise to Shawn Mkhize for giving her the opportunity. She has gained a huge following on social media for her work and a little bit for her looks.
