Zinnbauer: Orlando Pirates Supporters Never Trusted Me

The head coach of Orlando Pirates Josef Zinnbauer Believes the supporters of the club did not trust him during his first time in South Africa.

Before joining the Buccaneers Zinnbauer had no experience in coaching in Africa, let alone of coaching a big team like Pirates.

He joined a struggling Pirates at that time and his appointment was questionable.

From there the coach went to prove a lot of his doubters wrong and he has MTN8 trophy to show for it.

The club is currently doing well under his watch as they recently qualified for Nedbank Cup quarters.

Yesterday the coach reached a milestone in the club after he has been charge of 50 games with 30 wins 14 draws and only 6 defeats.

Talking to the media ahead of the Soweto derby, the coach refused to take all the credit by himself as he believes that the whole technical team deserve to be credited for the amazing work that they have been doing.

He added that this is the kind of work they have to do in order to come up with positive results and as a coach he knows it is not easy especially with a big team like Pirates.

"I won’t forget the first time I came here. Nobody trusted me, now we fight together," he said.
