While he is coming into a Kaizer Chiefs team that has just suffered a humbling 3-0 defeat in the Caf Champions League final, couple that with a DStv Premiership season which was a disastrous failure as per their lofty standards, new signing Njabulo Ngcobo has sent a very important message to the fans and what they can expect when he turns out for the team.

Ngcobo joined Chiefs from Swallows FC along with 5 others earlier in July following several months of speculation, and he has made a promise to the fans to take the club to its heights, saying him signing for the Naturena-based club is actually a dream come true for him.

"My message to the Chiefs supporters is very simple, except if I suffer injuries, I promise to give everything to the team and I promised to work hard to make a contribution in helping the team to achieve what it sets out," he told IDiski Times.

The 27-year-old also awknowledged that Chiefs have not had a good time in recent years, and he intends to take them back to the level they deserve to be.

"The task is huge of taking big brand where it belongs and I supremely confident and focusing on being part of the project that will help the team achieve that," he added.

The reigning DStv Premiership defender of the year has been handed the number 27 shirt, and he reveals quite an extraordinary information about his ancestors, saying they played an integral role in ensuring he ended up at arguably the biggest club in South Africa.

"Coming to Chiefs is actually a realization of a dream, and I sent gratitude to the Lord as well as my ancestors for possibilizing this great transfer and opportunity," Ngcobo said.

Chiefs fans can expect to see 'Roadblock' for the first time in action probably in the next few weeks, as they will face arch-rivals Orlando Pirates in the Carling Black Label curtain raiser at the Orlando Stadium on 1 August.
