Kaizer Chiefs Advised To Take Back Former Talented Player, See Who It Is

Date: 16/01/2022

Former Mamelodi Sundowns player Jabulani Mendu has opened up on George 'Mido' Maluleka's lack of game-time at Mamelodi Sundowns. The former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder was an instant sensation at Chiefs before he made his way to Chiefs bitter rivals Sundowns where he has played only 13 league matches for the club in two seasons. Maluleka played two league matches for Sundowns this season to date, with eleven played in the 2020/21 season.

Mamelodi Sundowns has a lot of great players within their squad, and players has to fight for their spots to get regular game-time or just more than others who are struggling to find their way to the pitch. According to Jabulani Mendu, Maluleka's lack of game-time has nothing to do with other players delivering better performances than the former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder, as he believes Maluleka is better than most Sundowns players but politics is keeping him out of the side.

George Maluleka's future at Sundowns is still unclear, and it's been reported that the player might make a move away from the club due to his lack of game-time. According to reports, the player might go out on loan with Orlando Pirates reportedly interested in his services. Jabulani Mendu thinks George Maluleka would be better off with Orlando Pirates, but he also believes that the player could go back to Kaizer Chiefs as according to him the club has never found a suitable replacement in his role since he left. Mendu has given advise for Chiefs to take back Maluleka to fill that void he left at the club.

"George Maluleka is quality, he is very good more than some of other regulars at Sundowns but I guess there's more on why he hasn't been playing, it just politics. "If I were Orlando Pirates would take Maluleka, even Kaizer Chiefs can take him back because he is very good player and they didn't find his replacement. A very humble and profesional talented man", Mendu told the media.
