Royal AM striker Victor Letsoalo plans to leave the team.
Fees Moloi has urged Victor Letsoalo, a striker for Royal AM, to quit the club so that the player can develop. Letsoalo is desired by Orlando Pirates, but he has a contract with Royal AM that is still active, so he has been looking to leave the club during current transfer window.
Although it is clear that the Kaizer Chiefs need him, Mamelodi Sundowns initially expressed interest before backing out.
When I read Moloi's latest piece, I'm reminded of a psychiatric patient I saw in Nigeria many years ago.
It's true, Royal Am is run like a spaza business, and only Amateur boys should be allowed to play there. You only need to look at Muwape Musonda to see that he won't have any luck the next season.
Even if he failed to accomplish anything, he still has first-hand knowledge of what it takes to be a successful athlete. For him, it's important that the current team learns from the past. Accept him onto the team. He'll wind up in the same place as Jaiya and Letlotlo.
When he was trying to outsmart his opponents, Jaiya saw that he was not as effective as usual.
A chronic injury ended Letlotlo's promising football career. A situation like this wouldn't arise if coaches signed athletes. There will be financial and career benefits for the teams.
