Lucky Maselesele, a former nimble-footed attacking midfielder, died on Friday at the age of 41, according to reports.
Although the cause of Maselesele's death is unknown at this time, his former Chiefs teammate and friend, Isaac Mabotsa, confirmed the news, but refused to go into detail about the incident.
"I can confirm the tragic news, but for the time being, I ask that we be given space to process what has occurred. I'm in his house right now, but please realize that I'm not going to say anything else about it "Mabotsa stated.
During his peak, the Gomora-born player, who was promoted to the club's first squad in 1998, was a troubled guy.
Maselesele confirmed, in an interview with SowetanLive in 2020, that he was the first South African player to test positive for Cocaine Drug, which he said was a regrettable event for him.
