Orlando Pirates have shown off their new team numbers before the 2022–23 DStv Premiership season.
After the club announced the new numbers for the 2022–2023 season, the newly signed Miguel Timm will wear the No. 4 shirt that former captain Happy Jele used to wear.
The club said that Miguel Timm, a midfielder, will wear the number 4 shirt that former captain Happy Jele just gave up, and that Nkosinathi Sibisi, a defender, will wear the number 5 on his back.
Evidence Makgopa and Bienvenu Eva Nga will wear numbers 17 and 33, respectively. When Monnapule Saleng returns from a season-long loan at Swallows, he will wear number 14.
The other new member of the First Team is defender Tapelo Xoki. At his old club, the Buccaneers, the number 27 is still available, so he will wear it in his first season with the Soweto Giants.
Two of the older players, Deon Hotto and Fortune Makaringe, switched the numbers on their backs before the new season started. Hotto wore number 11 since he joined the team in 2020, but Makaringe now wears number 15.
The rest of the team, including players who are currently on loan to other clubs, keep their original squad numbers.
