Sunday, November 14, 2021, at the Cape Coast Stadium. Ghana qualifies to the playoffs to the 2022 world cup that will take place in Qatar after a hard (1-0) defeat to the South African National team bafana bafana.
Ghana, The Black Stars, started the game pretty good, showing all their intentions of winning the match. They knew very well that a win will definitely take them to the playoffs.
Ghana National team has won the African Champions 4 times and in yesterday match it showed that there are one of the best in football team in Africa.
Ghana started pressing for the opener as they won the midfield battle.
Bafana bafana kept the game safe by putting more men at the back but Ghana pushed more man upfront.
Ghana captain took the ball for a penalty and sent the Bafana Bafana goalkeeper the wrong way to put Ghana ahead of South Africa.
Bafana Bafana pulled their socks after the penalty and gave Ghana some hard time but Ghana stood their ground and defended their line so well till the match half time.
The second half came back and both teams were lethal. Looking to break each other's defense line, but then again Ghana created more dangerous chances but didn't have the finishing touch.
Bafana Bafana stuck to their game plan as they pushed Ghana back. Ghana also stuck to their guns to win the match after 3 minutes of added time.
It was by a tiny luck for Ghana to qualify as they qualified with a superior goal difference after a tied 13 points between the two squads.
If you remember well, Broos (SA couch) confessed that even though Bafana Bafana won against Zimbabwe (1-0) on Thursday night at the FNB stadium, he was disappointed with their performance, saying; "I didn't recognise my Bafana Bafana team against Zimbabwe."
The South Africans only needed a draw or a win to qualify for the next stage of qualifiers.
