Pep Guardiola Names A Coach Who Has Been A Tough Opponent In The Last 2 Years

Despite a 2-0 rout of archrivals West Ham United in the Premier League's season opener, Pep Guardiola had a "difficult" admission to make.

It was Earling Haaland who secured three consecutive victories for Pep Guardiola after a humiliating 3-1 setback to Liverpool in the community shield shut down last weekend.

The Norwegian striker who struggled to impress in his maiden appearance for the Sky Blues scored twice in their first match at London Stadium to quiet critics.

His penalty kick put the Citizens in command before he used Kevin De Bryune's deadly pass to increase his side's lead.

Pep Guardiola couldn't disguise his pleasure after this 2-0 victory away from home, citing how difficult it has been to beat David Moyes on his own turf in the previous two years.

He stated: "This is always a difficult venue to visit, and the first game away from home in any league is always a challenge. Everywhere we go, we put on a fantastic show. We played flawlessly, going all out to win the ball and succeeding admirably. We were awful in the loss against Liverpool."
