Another drama has unfolded around Sundowns CAF Champion league game. It seems like Sundowns will experience the same treatment that was witnessed by Kaizer Chiefs. Sundowns were supposed to leave for Algeria for their clash with Algerian team CR Belouizdad for CAF group encounter.
According to report Algeria Football Association has asked to CAF to postpone CAF champions league game between Mamelodi Sundowns and CR Belouizdad, due to the fact that the Algeria medical authorities they don't want the game to take place in Algeria.
They have raised concern about the new COVID-19 variant in South Africa. Sundowns were initially cleared to go to Algeria to play. However it seems like the Algerian Authorities has done a U-turn on their decision.
This will be a big inconvenience for Sundowns as they have already ask PSL to postpone their game against Maritzburg to focus on CAF. Sundowns were set to jett out on thursday afternoon to Algeria.
