Maccabi Tel Aviv hosted Shakhtar Donetsk and suffered a 2-0 defeat in the first leg of the Round of 32 in the Europa League.


Maccabi Tel Aviv played their latest fixture in the Uefa Europa League against Shakhtar Donetsk in the first leg of the Round of 32 and suffered an unfortunate 2-0 defeat to the visitors. Tel Aviv now in trouble as Shakhtar has an two away goal advantage in the two leg tie. If Maccabi Tel Aviv want to progress to the Round of 16 than they need to score at least two away goals themselves away at Shakhtar in the second leg. Shakhtar won the match 2-0 when Alan Patrick scored in the first half of the match. Tel Aviv got an penalty opportunity in the 40th minute of the match but VAR ruled it out as a confirmed no penalty. Tetê scored in the second half when he found the back of the net in injury time for Shakhtar.

Shakhtar Donetsk opened the scoring in the first half of the match when Alan Patrick scored in the 31st minute of the match to give Shakhtar the 1-0 lead. Shakhtar extended their lead to 2-0 in the second half of the match when Tetê scored in the 90+2 minute of injury time as Shakhtar leads the match 2-0. Shakhtar played out the last minutes and won the first leg 2-0 in the end.
