Orlando Pirates kept their DStv Premiership title run hopes alive after thrashing Chippa United 3-1 at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Saturday afternoon. Pirates came back from a goal down which was netted by Phakamani Mahlambi for the home side on 12 minutes, thanks to Tsegofatso Mabaso’s strike in the 29 minutes. Then the Buccaneers pushed for more goals which came from Abel Mabaso and Goodman Mosele, in the 58 and 78 minutes, respectively. That’s how Pirates walked away with three points and they’re in the fourth position with eight points. Now, amid everything that occurred Saturday, it has been reported that the Pirates striker Gabadinho Mhango found himself in trouble with the law enforcement in the wee hours of the night.
According to Sunday World, Mhango was locked in and confined in Club Propaganda in Pretoria after allegedly failing to settle an R26 000 bill after buying alcohol for strangers. The Malawian international is believed that he decided to hit the famous club that’s mostly visited by celebrities from in and around Johannesburg and Pretoria. Little did he know that his act of kindness will put him in trouble after he didn’t finish doing his good deed. The reports stated that Mhango was detained for hours by the security personnel of the Club Propaganda as he wanted the bill to be settled so that he can be released. After hours of taking stories, then it’s understood that he decided to come clean and stated that he didn’t have money. Hence he couldn’t settle the bill on that night which didn’t sit well with the people in charge at the club. That’s when the Pirates attacker and Club manager reached an agreement that didn’t include the summoning of the police.
It’s believed that Mhango will have to settle the bill in the next couple of days as per their agreement. Unfortunately, none of the people that he bought drinks for were still at Club Propaganda as he was detained. Also, no one even helped him out with the payments after all the lavish spending he did for the strangers. The Club had to let him go as they were closing and trying to keep up with the curfew.
