Reunion On The Cards For Top Keeper?
Former Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi has been linked with a transfer to his old team as teams continue to bolster their squads in preparation for what looks to be a very tough DStv Premiership season.
Akpeyi hasn't found a new home since leaving Chiefs at the end of his contract in June despite being connected with a number of clubs including Orlando Pirates and Sekhukhune United.
Under the close supervision of Greg Etafia a legendary goalkeeper and fellow countryman the seasoned Super Eagles shot-stopper has been working out independently.
The 36-year-former old's team Chippa United appears to be interested in bringing him back to Daine Klate's squad, which will require experience to compete in the 2022–23 season.
The Chilli Boys introduced Akpeyi to PSL football in 2015 and he established himself there before signing with Chiefs in 2019.
After the departure of Ugandan goalkeeper Ismail Watenga, who will likely play this season in the colors of Marumo Gallants, the Chilli Boys are rumored to be looking to bring in another seasoned shot-stopper.
Akpeyi can sign up for a new club as a local because she possesses a permission for permanent residence.
