Percy Tau Roars Like A Lion In Al Ahly And Stands On Top Of Egypt As A Top Goal Scorer

Percy Tau returned to the top of the social media trending rankings this week after scoring twice in Al Ahly's four goals to one win over Smouha on Thursday. The win not only tightened the stranglehold on the Egyptian Premiership table for the numerous African club tournament champions, but it also sent Tau into an early lead in the battle for the golden boot.

Since his high-profile move from Brighton & Hove Albion to Al Ahly in August, the 27 years old South African has five goals so far. The achievement has elevated the player from Emalahleni in Mpumalanga to an equal top scorer alongside Ahmed Zizo Sayed of city rivals Zamalek, this is such an incredible feat to behold by this brilliant player. Percy Tau began his four-year contract with Al Ahly with a brace against Ismaily in four goals to nill win last month, and he also scored in the Red Devils' 3-2 win against Mahalla before Thursday's brace. Following a four-year tenure in Europe marred by misfortune, the gifted attacker is clearly enjoying his sport again.

"It was a time in my life when I needed to take care of myself." I required a four-year deal, but I was only on a one-year contract [remaining in Brighton]. That alone explains why I joined Al Ahly," Tau told City Press last week in Ghana, where he was playing for Bafana Bafana. The next official encounter for him and his teammates is more than two weeks away since the Egyptian league is on break for the Arab Cup, which includes North African powerhouses Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia, and Algeria.

The competition will take place from next Tuesday till December 18. Meanwhile, Al Ahly coach Pitso Mosimane stated he was slowly learning about the Egyptian league. "I've just been here for 13 months, give me time, and the team will play the way I want," he told Egypt's online daily Kingfut. Please let us know what you think about Tau's achievement in the comment section below, do not forget to like, share and comment.
